Air Q

AIR QUALITY

New Straits Times, ‘We’re Unaware That Air Pollution Is A Silent Killer’, Article dated August 29, 2019

“

Over the past decade, Malaysia has experienced industrial growth and urbanisation… This process benefited the economy. However, as a consequence, human activities emit particulates and gasses that pollute the air. To make things worse, the polluted air has been proven to correlate with human health, which subsequently degrades the quality of life.

”

POLLUTANTS IN THE ATMOSPHERE AND HAZE

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Emitted by burning of fossil fuels

Carbon monoxide (CO)

Mostly emitted from vehicle exhaust

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)

Emitted from products such as air conditioners, refrigerators, aerosol sprays, etc.

Odours

From garbage, sewage, and industrial processes

Ammonia

Emitted mainly by agricultural waste

Particulate matter (PM)

Fine particles suspended in air which are harmful especially to those suffering from asthma

HOW CUCKOO AIR PURIFIER WORKS: TECHNOLOGY BEYOND STANDARDS

Breathe easy with CUCKOO’s various types of exceptional air purifiers that are equipped with the latest technologies to filter fine inhalable particles as small as 0.3 microns, including PM2.5, and remove up to 99.9% of toxic substances with the CUCKOO Plasma Ioniser.

THE BENEFITS OF CUCKOO AIR PURIFIER WITH 7-STAGE FILTRATION SYSTEM

With the 7-stage filtration system, air is perfected through the removal of dust and bacteria in the air.

FILTER TYPE FUNCTION	LIFE SPAN	CLEAN / REPLACE
Stage 1	Pre-Filter	Eliminates large dust and animal hair	2 weeks	Clean
Stage 2	Harmful Gas Filter*	Eliminates sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide	4 months	Replace
Stage 3	Deodorisation Filter (Granular Activated Carbon*)	Eliminates ammonia, acetaldehyde, acetic acid, harmful gases and unpleasant odour	12 months	Replace
Stage 4-7	Ultra PM2.5 Filter (Anti-Bacteria)	Eliminates PM2.5, fine dust and haze particles as small as 0.3 microns.	12 months	Replace
	Ultra PM2.5 Filter (Anti-Mold)
	Ultra PM2.5 Filter (Anti-Virus)
	Ultra PM2.5 Filter (Allergen Filter)

* The CUCKOO C Model & C+ Model Air Purifiers use the Harmful Gas Easy Filter, while the CUCKOO B Model uses the Harmful Gas Relax Filter.** The CUCKOO D Model Air Purifier uses Allergen Filter with 4 months life span.***Granular Activated Carbon can only be found in the CUCKOO B Model’s Deodorisation Filter.

CUCKOO air filter system with certification

CUCKOO’s Air Purifiers also include a self-developed filter – the Ultra PM2.5 Filter. Tested and certified by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the filter effectively removes 99.77% to 99.95% of dust in the air.

What is PM?

PM stands for particulate matter – tiny particles suspended in air. When inhaled, the particles would enter our respiratory system or bloodstream, causing serious health problems. PM are usually tracked as one of the main criteria affecting our air quality, especially during haze.

Our filter removes very fine inhalable particles with diameters that are generally 2.5 micrometres (PM2.5) and smaller (as small as 0.3 microns).

How small is PM2.5? Think aboutHow small is PM2.5? Think about a single strand of hair, from your head. PM2.5 is almost 30 times SMALLER than an average strand of human hair (70 micrometres in diameter).
